SUMMARY:Canadian Stories told through Opera - Aug 20
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a cutting edge experience of opera\, created by living composers\, telling the stories of today! \nInertia by Ashley Au and Christene Browne is a story about elderly isolation and perceptions of death and a meditation on stagnation\, dying\, love\, and friendship. It tells the story of two elderly neighbours\, Evelyn and Addison\, who live next door to each other for decades but have little interaction with each other or anyone. When Death comes to collect the two\, he instead decides to allow them to live\, if they can get past their entrenched ways to become friends. \n \nThe Museum of the Lost and Found\, by Olivia Shortt\, focuses on a fictional museum in the woods whose exhibits are items from various Lost and Found boxes. What happens to people and items when they are no longer being looked for? It is an allegory about how Western society treats missing person cases (specifically MMIWG2S: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women\, Girls and Two-Spirit People). \n \nOperas: $37.50\nTicket Link: https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/5319677 \n  \nSEASON PASSES: \nVIP Pass – $200\nIncludes all live season performances & activities + exclusive ONEGIN opening night reception with performers & Artistic Directors\, Valerie Kuinka & Richard Margison\nhttps://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/5347461 \n  \nRegular Pass – $90\nIncludes 1 ticket to each opera program (ie. 1 ticket for a performance of the Canadian operas & 1 ticket to a performance of ONEGIN) +  1 concert of your choice + unlimited attendance at Masterclasses\nhttps://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/5347466 \n  \nYouth Pass – $25 (for ages 13-30; proof of age required at time of purchase)\nIncludes 1 ticket to an opera performance of your choice + 1 ticket to a concert of your choice + unlimited attendance at Masterclasses\nhttps://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/5347472 \n
