DESCRIPTION:The 2023 HOS presentation of Mishaabooz’s Realm has been postponed for this season\, as its creator\, Andrew Balfour\, has had to step away from all professional commitments for the foreseeable future. \nIn lieu of Mishaabooz’s Realm we will be presenting Regeneration: an innovative evening of theatrical storytelling combining vocal\, percussion and electro-acoustic music entwined with dance and painting to present a new understanding of an ancient story. \nRegeneration is inspired by the northern Mexican legend of the bone-gathering woman\, ‘La Loba‘ (Wolf Woman). In this multi-textured work\, designed and directed by Valerie Kuinka\, artists gather bones to assemble a skeleton. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a cutting edge experience of opera\, created by living composers\, telling the stories of today! \nInertia by Ashley Au and Christene Browne is a story about elderly isolation and perceptions of death and a meditation on stagnation\, dying\, love\, and friendship. It tells the story of two elderly neighbours\, Evelyn and Addison\, who live next door to each other for decades but have little interaction with each other or anyone.
