Hannah Crawford's first paid gig was singing “O Canada" for the Rockhound Gembouree in her hometown of Bancroft, Ont. It's the mineral capital of Canada - an old mining town that also happens to have a vibrant arts community. After high school Hannah joined the Voice Performance program at Cambrian College in Sudbury and continued to her undergrad at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ont. where she realized she wanted to make opera her world.
Hannah's upcoming contracts include a role debut with Edmonton Opera as Helmwige in Richard Wagner's Die Walküre and recent performances include the role of Stewardess in Johnathan Dove's Flight at the Royal Conservatory of Music -Toronto and Contessa from Le
Nozze di Figaro with Chicago Summer Opera. She also performed as Madame Lidoine in 2021 with Wilfrid Laurier University's production of Dialogue des Carmelites.
Recently she took 2nd Place at the Canadian Opera Company's Centre Stage Competition and won her District and further an Encouragement award at Regionals in the 2024 Metropolitan Opera Laffont competition. Hannah is currently based in Toronto and studies with Elizabeth McDonald. This past season, Hannah was part of the prestigious Rebanks Family Fellowship and International Performance Residency Program.
