Hailing from West Yorkshire, UK, Patricia Yates graduated with her Master of Music from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in 2024. She continues her studies there with John Mac Master, completing her Post Graduate Artist Diploma.
As Peter Quint in Opera 5’s The Turn of the Screw, Patricia was described as “the quintessential English Britten tenor in that long lineage which traces back to Peter Pears.” Other recent operatic credits include Jupiter Semele, Don Ramiro La Cenerentola, Alfred Die Fledermaus, Tamino Die Zauberflöte.
As a recitalist, Patricia has performed much of Britten's works, including Winter Words, Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo and Les Illuminations. Other programs included the art song of Rossini, Bellini and Donizetti, Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte and the extended vocal works of Beach, Price, Smyth and Hensel-Mendelssohn.
Patricia has sung in masterclasses with figures such as Warren Jones, Irene Kudela, Helmut Deutsch, Pierre Vallet, Jeff Cohen, François Le Roux and Lisette Oropesa.
