Artist Agent, Dean Artist Management, ‘In Conversation: How to Find and Work with an Agent’ Pt. 1, professional auditions

Gianmarco Segato joined Dean Artists Management in May 2022 as Associate Artist Manager, working primarily in the agency’s Opera Division. Previous to taking on this role, from 2017-2022, Gianmarco was Editorial Director of Opera Canada Publications where he directed the overall vision of its venerable 61-year-old quarterly print magazine, jump started its now robust digital presence, and administered public programming, including ‘The Rubies’—Opera Canada’s annual celebration honouring outstanding contributions by Canadian opera artists, administrators, and supporters.

Known for his passion for opera and untiring support for singers, his features, reviews and interviews have been shared in multiple industry publications including Bachtrack, Schmopera and La Scena Musicale. Gianmarco spent 10 years with the Canadian Opera Company, latterly as the company’s Adult Programs Manager. In this position, he wrote extensively for company publications, delivered and programmed live events including the popular pre-performance opera chats, and hosted The Big COC Podcast.
